Mohamed Mavuthu is the daughter of Birmohamed and Maideenfathima.
Her father, Birmohamed works as a coolie and has studied up to grade
two. Her mother has received no formal education and is a
housewife. Per month, the family can anticipate a salary of
500-1500 rupees.
Strengths:
Mavuthu is
currently to able to eat, drink, brush her teeth and dress
independently but requires assistance when bathing. Her receptive
communication includes the ability to point out objects in a book
upon request; she is also able to express his feelings and desires
through individual words and phrases. Mavuthu is able to follow
instructions, maintain attention while listening to a story and
subsequently answer yes/no questions based on its content.
Current conceptual
understanding includes the ability to identify common objects, such
as fan, table and chair, animals such as cow, dog and elephant and
birds, such as crow and parrot. Mavuthu can also identify several
colors and shapes, as well as coins and bills up to 100 rupees. She
is able to write numbers up to 100, complete single digit addition
and can write her own name in Tamil.
Management Plan:
Mavuthu has been
placed in the functional academic group and is now working on
further developing her reading skills. She works on reading
magazines and jocks. Long-term goals for Mavuthu include
improvement in individual management and a further developed
understanding of time, money and numeracy. Her Management plan also
includes providing vocational counseling for her parents and trained
to hand works.
Mavuthu's
Personal, Social and Academic Skills have improved greatly. This
would not be possible without the help of her generous sponsor.
