Special Report - Sept 2008:  Thavamani has been discharged from ASSA day care and now lives with her parents. She attends VI Std at regular school and is doing extremely well. We are proud to announce that ASSA has succeeded in the rehab of a mentally challenged girl with their specialized program. Family Details:  G. Thavamani is the  daughter of T. Gnaniah and Shermakani.  Her father works as a coolie and attended school up to grade 6.  Her mother has no education but has secured herself employment as a teacher at one of Amar Seva Sangam's village respite centers.  Of Thavamani's four siblings, three experience moderate to severe learning disabilities.  Per month, the family can anticipate the salary of 500-1500 rupees.
