Birth history of the Child:                Normal Delivery. Prolonged labour. Did not

                                                   cry immediately. The child developed fits

                                                   and went to a private hospital the next

                                                   day. No episode of fits after that.

 

Condition of the Child on Admission:

-          Walks well. She has attended a regular school for 3 years. She talks in single words and not able to talk in sentences. She is not able to dress or undress on her own. Eats very little. She is able to copy letters and words by rote but not able to identify letters. No numbers, time or money concepts.

 

Training Give at Nesam:

-          To improve her speech by giving blowing exercises and applying honey inside the

mouth and making her lick with her tongue, to facilitate easier movements of the tongue.

She is grouped with another child with good vocabulary so that she can improve her

speech with a good model.

-          To train her undressing and dressing skills.

-          To eat on her own.

-          To read her name and read 10 common words, identifying each letter.

-          To write her name and write the 10 Words.

-          To arrange numerals from 1-5 and learn the concept.

-          To improve her eye hand coordination by doing activities like

-        Cutting a line, circle with a scissors.

-          Putting clothes pins on a card board

-          Cutting and pasting activities

-          Filling bottles with water etc.
