Current Status                            :     She is able to do her daily activities herself except bathing.

 

Training Given at Nesam School:

  1. She is able to tell and write numerals from 1 to 30.  However, she finds it difficult to count things in 5’s. 

  2. She is trained to add and subtract small numbers.

  3. She writes the names of herself and her parents.  She is trained to write her address.

  4. She is given training in domestic work like making juices and to knead flour for making rotis.

  5. She is given vocational training in the following works: envelope making, painting, making candles and designing gift wrappers.

  6. She is expected to do all of her personal activities herself, as well as helping her mother in doing house-work.  

 

 

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

    She does one digit additions, since she does not understand the concept of numbers, beyond 3.  She is given a calculator and is being taught to do addition sums on it.  She is able to now do single digit sums, with the aid of a calculator, and she is very happy about it.

    She recites and writes numbers up to 40, by rote, but she does not understand the concept.

    She can write her address in Tamil with a few mistakes.  She writes up to 50 words on dictation.

    She can make instant coffee and juice.  She is able to switch on the gas stove and switch it off on instruction.  She is able to operate and electric rice-cooker.  She can fold simple clothes, and also sweep the floor.

    At school she participates in several activities.
