V. Murugan is 21 years old and comes from outside of Venkateswarapuram.  His father works as a coolie and his mother is a housewife. He is an only child.

 

Murugan suffered permanent disabilities from a case of childhood polio, leaving both his legs very weak and making him unable to walk without assistance.  Amar Seva has allowed Murugan to pursue his goals in education while also providing him with the rehabilitation care that he needs.  He attends physiotherapy daily for one hour to improve his walking abilities.

 

Murugan is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program here at ASSA and plans to pursue a career as an auditor or an accountant. Murugan’s friends describe him as an extremely hard worker who is also a very talented singer and actor on the side.  He excels in math classes which is sure to assist him is his pursuit of an accountancy career.

 

Murugan also very much enjoys playing cricket and listening to matches on the radio. In his spare time he also likes to read novels.
