Mohammed is 18 years old and comes from Kadayanallur. He has grown up with his father, Ahemed and his mother, Mariyam Beevi along with four younger siblings. He suffered damage to both of his legs, due to polio, leaving him unable to walk and he uses a hand pumped tricycle for mobility.
Mohammed is now enrolled in the Bachelor of Computer Applications program, and has future goals to work as a software engineer.
The program here at Amar Seva Sangam has allowed Mohammed to continue to study computer applications while receiving daily physiotherapy treatment to allow him to work independently. The combination of social activities and education that Amar Seva is able to provide enhances the rehabilitation process for Mohammed.
Mohammed’s friends say that he is a diligent worker who greatly enjoys mathematics. In his spare time he likes to play cricket, read novels and even compose Tamil music.
Mohamed extends a great “thank you” to HCI for its continued support in his recovery and education.
