Student volunteers gain valuable experience working with mentally
and physically disabled children. We train and place enthusiastic
and empathetic individuals willing to learn and give to those less
fortunate. Our programs are extremely valuable for those with an
interest in special education.
- The benefits of volunteering in terms of the career / educational advancement of each volunteer is very significant. Each of our student volunteers has been able to enter the desired field of study - viz. Medicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and other Health care related studies.
- For some volunteers, who could not decide as to what area of atudy to pursue, volunteering with HCI, provided them with answers after working with our disabled children and gave them a focus on their future studies / career.
- When these volunteers return home after the remarkable experience
of living, giving and receiving from a developing country, they are
able to contribute so much more to the Canadian society at large and
their families and communities are that much enriched.
