Initiated EI Project and supporting the implementation of project since 2012. It started with a EI centre built in ASSA campus. Due to the overwhelming need in the surrounding community, HCI successfully partnered with Grand Challenges Canada and raised a significant amount of funds.
This provided a platform for developing the EI (Enabling Inclusion) Application, that is now globally recognised and won several awards including the Zero Project award by United Nations.
HCI is the major funder in the implementation of this project, which provides complete end-to-end habilitation solution for children under the age of 10 who have delayed development.

Building Projects

  • Currently building the expansion of Spinal Cord Injury Center
  • Constructed the "Sensory Garden" - 2024
  • Donated to the construction of a Tailoring Center in 2017. More than 100 women with special needs have received training and many of them are gainfully employed.
  • Constructed EI center within campus for children from age 0 to 6 years born with developmental delays, Cerebral Palsy, etc. - 2012
  • Constructed life care centre for staff and employees with severe disabilities - 2014.
  • Constructed High School expansion building in 2012 with more classrooms and a lab to accommodate growing number of students. Handi-Care has also helped facilitate the addition of special needs students into the school.
  • Constructed Sangamam school building in 2009. Since then, children within the special education program at the school receive condition-specific care, training in reading, writing, speech. In 2024 alone, 226 children received training in this school.
  • Rebuilt an entire village after Tsunami in 2005
  • Constructed the first Home and Rehabilitation facility which provides a wide range of rehabilitation and educational programs.

Professional Volunteers
Graduate students from universities across Canada are selected to complete their final internships at Amar Seva Sangam (ASSA), earning credits toward their respective degrees.
During their placement, the students receive advanced, hands-on training in all aspects of rehabilitation, working with patients of all ages and a wide range of disabilities. They are supervised by ASSA's team of occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists, as well as visiting volunteer professionals in these fields from Canada.
Since 2015, over 300 graduate students and 80 professional volunteers from Canada have participated in this program. Their involvement has made a significant impact on the quality of rehabilitation services at ASSA, benefiting patients across the disability spectrum — including those with spinal cord injuries and post-stroke conditions.

Handi-Care Intl. initiated this project and has been contributing to it since 2020. The program helps provide children and youth with essential mobility aids, posture-support devices, hearing aids, and other equipment vital for their development and independence.
As of 2024, a total of 2,689 pieces of equipment have been donated, transforming the lives of countless children in need

Spinal Cord Injured and Stroke Patients Rehab

Handi-Care Intl. has supported these programs since their inception, and between 2007 and 2012 sponsored the rehabilitation of many patients. Since 2020, the organization has supplied a wide range of assistive devices — including wheelchairs, Roho cushions, adaptive aids, and more.
Most recently, Handi-Care Intl. has made a significant contribution toward the construction of a building expansion, enabling these initiatives to serve even more patients in need.

Children Rehab - Canada

Providing support for SDR surgeries, comprehensive post-surgery rehabilitation, and accessible home modifications to improve independence and quality of life for eligible candidates in Canada.
